°ÀÇ°æÇè I went to the University of Rochester (class of 2007).
Ä¿¹ö·¹ÅÍ/À̷¼ Dear Sir or Madam,

It is with great interest that I am applying for an E.S.L. teaching position at your school.  I believe that my previous teaching experiences, my boundless creativity and enthusiasm, my friendly and outgoing personality and my ability to get along well with children qualify me for this position.
As a teacher at your school, I would emphasize skills in reading, writing, and speaking as well as knowledge in grammar.  I would motivate the students through many unorthodox ways of teaching.  For instance, I would practice the enunciation of difficult words but I noticed that many native Korean people tend to be embarrassed when speaking English.  In an attempt to circumvent this problem, I would have the class break up in small groups.  Furthermore, so as to encourage the students to help each other, a prize would be given to the best group in the class.
Also, I would tailor different approaches to problems depending on the interests of the students.  For example, to get a chemistry student of mine to understand a basic principle of chemical bonding, I likened the atoms in a particular molecule to different soccer teams, knowing that he liked the sport.  To be more specific, I explained that some ¡±soccer teams¡± (i.e., atoms in a molecule) had more ¡±money¡± (i.e., more electronegative than others).  Thus, these ¡±teams¡± were more likely to acquire ¡±good soccer players¡±  (i.e., electrons) than ¡±soccer teams¡± that had less money (i.e., atoms that are less electronegative than others), etc.  This allowed the student to bring some of the excitement that he exhibited while watching and playing soccer into the classroom.  Also, this method creates an avenue, in this case, sports, through which the student and teacher can bond.
In addition to this, I would surprise the students with different games as well as tools to encourage excitement about learning English because I believe that learning is easiest when having fun.
As my resume indicates, my most recent career-related positions as a private tutor for English, SAT mathematics, and college Chemistry required independent thinking, problem-solving and excellent communication skills, as well as great patience.  I have always found immense joy from helping others.  Therefore, naturally, I have thoroughly enjoyed my past teaching experiences and they have helped me to realize that I have a true calling in this field.
At your convenience, I would more than welcome the opportunity to interview with you either via a phone call or a video call.  Thank you for your time and consideration.  I am looking forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Dae J. Kim
