To Whom it may concern,
I am applying for an ESL teaching position abroad as I feel I can offer a valuable mix of enthusiasm and proficiency as well as a cross curricular approach to ESL. My background in Drama teaching and passion for working with children allows me to be more innovative and creative within my classroom focusing on students individual needs.
As a teacher having graduated in 2011, I have a lot to offer. I am hard-working, with the drive and ambition to educate young minds. I am currently employed by Canning Secondary Behaviour Centre, run by Principals Melissa Shepherd and Sheona Motroni. In addition to experience and educational knowledge, I am a great communicator with a team-oriented spirit.
My current appointment at Canning Secondary Behaviour Centre has helped me develop and refine my teaching and behaviour management skills. In this position I have worked with students ranging from 10 – 16 years of age with a wide range of abilities within each class. Due to many students being incapable of reading and writing I have further developed my ESL teaching skills and managed to differentiate work so that all members of the class have an opportunity to succeed and be challenged. With our reward scheme and youth generosity programs I have been lucky enough to engage with my students in a variety of offsite locations such as the Perth Mint, dog walking at the animal shelter, Caversham Wildlife Park, Fairbridge recreation centre, the Aquarium of Western Australia and many more. In these places I was given the opportunity to make learning an engaging and interactive experience with students keeping photo journals of their excursions.
As a graduate teacher I am aware that teaching is an on going reflective learning process which develops and changes with each school, location and advancement in technology. I am excited to be heading out to South Korea to broaden my horizons and be involved with a school that has a passion for education that matches my own.
I am happy to provide greater detail about my skills, experience and vision, and would also love to hear about your needs and wants for the position. Given my experience and knowledge, I am confident that I would be an asset.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
