°ÀÇ°æÇè In 2007 I had participated in a CSV ¡®Learning Together¡¯ programme at the John Madejski Academy Secondary school in Reading. This involved working in a classroom and directly teaching and helping pupils two hours a week on a voluntary basis. This particular school was selected by supporting governors and trustees (John Madejski himself), redesigned to raise the level of attainment and bring a distinctive approach to school leadership. I recognized this opportunity in a drive to develop innovative and creative approaches to teaching and learning.

My teaching method for non english speaking students are relatively straightforward.  It may appear that sometimes children of a younger age can easily be distracted since they speak little or no English, and because of this it becomes a disadvantage for me to capture their attention.  But I have found that by interacting and entertaining them will hold the attention of children very well. This is more likely due to my good social networking skills with people and children, good communication skills, patience, and caring nature.  I think that slow pronunciation and big hand gestures and body movements will make non-English speaking people understand me better.
I believe that conversational speaking and interacting is the best way to learn and develop ones confidence in English language.  The difficulties may lie in structuring of sentences and grammar into a correct order; however this can be corrected simply by practice.
I feel that I would be a great asset to any teaching organisation in Korea and would relish the chance of an interview.

Education:
University: University of Reading
Degree: Economics Bsc
Grade: 2:1 upper second class honours

A Levels: BBCB in Economics, Sociology, Maths and AS ICT respectively.

12 GCSEs: 3 A*s, 5A, 4B including English Lit A, English Language A

Ä¿¹ö·¹ÅÍ/À̷¼ I was born in the UK with the British education system and I was also raised by Chinese parents.  So I have enriched the greatness of two cultures hence I can relate to Korea in many ways. Despite my Chinese heritage, I was born and raised in Britain and my competency in English reading and writing are excellent achieving grade A* for an English Literature GCSE exam and grade A for English Language.
My fascination is derived by the religion, people and culture, all of which are the topics I have become attracted to. I am a person who can adapt to different environments with a serious work ethic and also the ability to create a fun working establishment. In general, I am a positive worker who believes that anyone can learn anything proven with hard work. So despite my lack of experience with teaching children, I believe my fun loving nature and love for children will make me a popular lady during classes.

I believe that i would adapt well upon arrival.  My interests and wishes while i stay in Korea are limitless.  Once settled i would like the opportunity to travel around Korea from the city to the countryside.  First starting in Seoul where i have the chance to visit Seoul's many ancient palaces and pagodas, visit the buzzing local markets using their most convenient and easy transport links.  Then my next destination of port will be the next metropolis of Korea Icheon.  Here i could relax at one of the six beaches it holds.  Also temperatures can tend to be fairly mild so it would be less exhausting trying to get around.  Ideally I would like to be close to the city and still have a grasp of country mountainous land by the Nakdong River and Suyeong River.  I would then travel down south through countryside districts and eventually head to Busan.  Being the largest port city in Korea, i think this would be a good experience.  With it becoming a commercial and business hub, i am fascinated to see how the free economic zone create self contained schools, hospital, shopping and entertainment centres.  These are only some of my wishes i would like to accomplish while staying in Korea.

The main interest i have in Korea is their food.  Korean food in the United Kingdom is very expensive; however I still manage to go to Korean restaurants whenever i get the opportunity.  I enjoy eating Kimchi, their sauces of red chilli paste (gochujang), their soups and stews (guk), and their meats marinated in spicy sauces and barbequed on a hot pan.  All of these foods and many more are the indulgences i often have.

I believe learning Korean etiquette, culture and generally the society itself can be seen as very new to me but in some ways also very similar.  I am faced with being brought up with Chinese parents in an English environment so I do hold some Chinese values which i believe are parallel to Korean culture, one being that they both share the same religion, Buddhism. I would also like to learn how to speak Korean if given the chance since i occasionally watch Korean series, my favourite one being Full House.

Subsequent to graduating with an Economics degree, my thoughts are upon taking a year out to practice teaching as a profession and see the wonders of South Korea.  Generally I have many plans to taste every aspect of Korean life and I would love the opportunity to make this dream happen.I would like this opportunity to travel to a thriving cultural city with many things to see and learn and hopefully be an experience never to forget.
