Christina Suarez 122 Charles st. Apt #409 Meriden, CT 06450 Dear ESL Agent, I am writing you in regards to obtaining a position as an ESL teacher in South Korea. I am most interested in applying for a position in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do as opposed to the satellite cities as I believe my skills would be best put to use teaching English in a public school setting in Seoul, South Korea. I don’t have a preference for age group because I believe that I can adapt to any teaching environment. One thing that separates me from other potential candidates is that I have a strong interest in the Korean culture and language and as such, have educated myself on the customs of Korea and have acquired an intermediate written and verbal proficiency of the Korean language. As my enclosed resume indicates, I have many qualities that would be very beneficial to an ESL teacher in South Korea to include diligence, adaptability, enthusiasm and initiative. Additionally, I have personal experience tutoring grade school children in reading and writing which has allowed me to cultivate my skills as an educator. As a recent graduate of the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Psychology with a minor in English, I believe that my educational background has given me a starting point upon which to build a career in teaching English as a foreign language.
