I am writing to express my interest in the joining your company as an English teacher.  I believe I meet all the necessary teaching qualifications to fulfil this position and am confident that with my experience I will be an asset to your team.

I have been teaching CELTA / ESL for almost three years now and I am satisfied and comfortable in my role as a teacher. I am certain that teaching is a job I will continue to do well into the future.

I graduated from High School in 2004 and decided to study psychology. I believe the study of psychology gives one a stable foundation in a job that requires you to constantly interact with other people. My base in psychology has helped me deal with a wide range of people and personalities whilst teaching and has given me the patience that is required for this job. Once I graduated from University, I decided to complete a CELTA course in order to give myself more options. I completed an intensive CELTA course in one month, 120 hours of training in total. During the CELTA course I gained practical experience as we had to present our lessons to student refugees from the Congo. I loved the experience I had teaching CELTA and knew then that this was something I wanted to do permanently.

Once I had completed my CELTA I began teaching almost immediately. I worked at an International School for adults in South Africa. I worked with a variety of nationalities, adult students from Korea, Taiwan, Brazil, Ghana, to name a few. I worked as an admin assistant in the morning and taught classes in the afternoon. Part of the job entailed organizing field trips to introduce our students to the many different cultural aspects of South Africa. This was something I really enjoyed as I am a meticulous planner. I had a very positive experience working at this school and formed some wonderful working relationships but I decided to leave as I was after a bigger challenge and also wanted to travel.

I left South Africa to teach at a summer school programme in Cambridge, England. I worked as a teacher and activity leader for teenagers from various countries across Europe. It was a constantly changing environment to work in and I was extremely busy, working 6 days a week, 8 hours a day. I met many other teachers from all over the world and learned a lot from them. Students would constantly come in and out and the schedule changed everyday but I enjoyed the new challenge that this offered as it was exactly what I was looking for.

Once the summer programme was completed, I decided to take up a post in South Korea where I am currently teaching at an all girls Public Middle School. Korea is extremely culturally different from my own country but I learnt to adapt fast and have immersed myself within the culture. I have been learning the language and also have been taking Taekwondo lessons three times a week. I believe that keeping busy is the best way to enjoy a country. Korea has granted me many opportunities to travel and to try new things that I would else wise not have been able to experience. I am the only foreign teacher at my school but communicate and learn something new everyday from my co-workers. It has truly been an eye opening experience. My contract ends in November and I have decided to move on to another teaching challenge.

I am serious about teaching and it is not simply a job for me but it is something I am passionate about and am constantly striving to improve and learn.

I would like to relocate with my long term boyfriend. He is also applying for a position and has four years experience as a teacher as well as all the necessary qualifications. I believe we can be assets to your team and are both committed to our endeavours.
