Dear Hiring Manager,
It is with great enthusiasm that I submit my resume in consideration for an ESL teaching position. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree from Arizona State University in Justice Studies and I have prior experience teaching English to Korean students.
Being an accommodating, versatile, and compassionate teacher and tutor I have taught English to many Korean students as well as other foreign students. I have used picture cards, books, singing, drawing, and playing memory games to better facilitate learning with young children and adults speaking English for the first time.
As an ESL tutor I focused on the needs of Korean students who seek to improve their conversational English abilities and vocabulary by engaging in conversations on various subjects focusing on pronunciation and grammar. I have also tutored other foreign elementary students such as Sudanese, Middle Eastern, European and Hispanic on their homework assignments in various subjects such as ESL, language arts, history, science and math.
In addition, I have a great interest in South Korea. Being Korean-American I would like to explore South Korea, experience Korean culture, and improve my Korean language skills.
I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you personally in order to discuss how my diverse skills and experience will enable me to make a valuable contribution to your institution. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Christine Jun
