This letter is in application for the English instructor position you have on your website.  My 10+ years¡¯ experience as a language teacher and trainer in South Korea, coordinator of a variety of programs and activities, along with ongoing administrative duties, prompted me to submit the enclosed application materials.  Please allow me to tell you my S.T.O.R.Y.

Strengths gained in the various positions I have held throughout my working career include organizing, managing, developing, enhancing, promoting, recruiting, advising, tutoring, proof reading, editing and problem-solving.

Topics of university level instruction have included:  TOEFL preparation, English conversation, public speaking/presentation skills, international business English, composition, study skills (including basic research methods), testing and evaluation, methods and materials, teacher training, and critical thinking skills.

Optimal conditions (my ideal workplace) include a cooperative and forward thinking working environment, opportunity for professional development, permission to display my ability to be creative in developing programs and curriculum, and collaboration across disciplines in research and program development.

Relationally I am creative, resourceful and tenacious in completing goals and tasks; friendly, empathetic and interested in promoting cross-cultural understanding.  I have the maturity and ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.

Yes! is my response to challenges.  In a cooperative and collaborative environment, challenges provide me with motivation for continuing both, development and improvement of programs and processes, as well as personal and professional development of myself and others.

I received my Master of Arts degree in teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language (TES/FL) and my Bachelor of Arts in Multicultural Human Resource Management and German Language and Literature from Central Washington University (CWU) in Ellensburg, Washington.

To schedule an interview or, to further discuss how my qualifications and experience relate to this position, please feel free to contact me at my email address: profmillam@yahoo.com or my cell phone: 010-8242-3863.  I do have all the documents necessary to obtain an E-2 or E-1 visa.  I am available beginning April 15, with the caveat that I will need to go to Fukuoka to change my visa.

Thank you for your time and consideration of my application.  I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincere regards,

Karen W. Millam
