It is with great pleasure that I am applying for the position of a full-time teacher of English at Busan Metro Board of Education.
I trust that you will find that I am just the right teacher that you are looking for. I have taught and tutored ESL/EFL for seven years to all age groups and levels in Canada, South Korea, and Japan. I have a superior proficiency in the English language, excellent interpersonal, communication and classroom management skills. I have served as a Head Instructor and curriculum Designer at Gyeongnam Foreign Language Institute for the Gifted. I coached, edited and judged English essay and speech contests. I have taught at two elite Korean foreign language high schools. I am a certified University of Cambridge ESOL Oral Examiner and was in charge of recruiting English instructors for Kaya University as well as being instrumental in planning, developing, and teaching the first Kaya International English Program (KIEP) summer camp at Kaya University in Gimhae, South Korea in 2005.
I have participated in a few English camps and have delivered many specialized classes such as: The new TOEFL iBT (essay writing, listening/speaking components), British Renaissance poetry, Shakespearean Drama (Romeo & Juliet and The Merchant of Venice), Dead Poets Society, Friends sitcom, speech analysis and presentations such as the speeches from the films City Hall and Elizabeth, English for Tourism, Psychology of Interpersonal Relations, Business and International communication English and successfully incorporated ESL activities, role-plays, acting, songs and the Internet into the ESL classroom thereby stimulating enthusiasm and sparking creativity in my students.
My extensive and well-rounded education in TESOL, English literature, social science, multimedia, humanistic student-centered approach to education, as well as working, living and traveling overseas, has afforded me the critical skills necessary to deliver enriching content through engaging my students in a fun and effective manner.
I possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. I am an optimist who is confident, energetic, mature, motivated, diplomatic, and love being with people.
