My name is Jeff Byrd. I came across your posting on ESL Café on December 28, 2010. I am very excited to work with you to find a position suitable for me. I really enjoy kindergarten and elementary students. I believe my experience, educational background, and skills qualify me for a good position.
I graduated from the University of Guam (USA) in the spring of 2008. I received a BA in English Linguistics. I also earned a TESOL certificate in December 2010, after completing a 150 hour in class course.
I am a 29 year old male currently teaching in Gyeonggi-Do, Korea for Power Study. I was born and raised in America. I am half Caucasian and half Korean. I have an F-4 visa. I do not speak Korean. I have taught for a total of 2 years in South Korea. I am currently teaching elementary, middle, and adult classes.
I believe my experience at all levels with all ages has helped me notice and adopt useful methods. I am able to manage classrooms of children at different levels, while meeting the performance standards. I believe in a nurturing and supportive classroom environment which helps each child to utilize their full potential. This allows for the students to feel safe, special, and appropriately challenged. I have strong skills in classroom management, communication, and organization. I have the ability to utilize new ideas and concepts which allows students to comprehend and retain the concepts and language. I enjoy using visual, audio and kinesthetic methods. I believe that I could be an asset for any position by making a valuable and significant contribution due to my successful experience. |
