Dear Employer,

As a teacher, current events and global news are essential to the job. To keep myself on pace with information, I am continually doing research. While investigating different educational cultures and communities around the world, found working and living abroad to be an extremely rewarding experience. I have taught in South Korea, teaching English and really enjoyed working with the students.  I have also taught in the United States for two years enjoyed the public school experience as well.  What I am really striving for in my career is an opportunity to expand both my knowledge of the world and my knowledge of teaching.

The work experiences I have had so far have taught me many things, but no lesson has become clearer to me than this: I have a need to learn more about the world which I teach. Immersing myself in new cultures and new communities will improve my skills as a teacher, while helping me grow as a person. There are lessons in life one cannot get out of textbooks and maps. I want to meet the people and live life in places I have only read about.

Based upon my familiarity with research and global concerns, I feel I am well suited to the needs of many learning communities. I am constantly developing curriculum in subjects including geography and world history, and thus, am always looking to expand my knowledge and experiences in the world. My experience teaching about the world, its cultures and its histories, makes me confident of success in both working overseas, and meeting the needs and goals of your school.

I would be very interested in speaking with you about teaching opportunities within your school. I will gladly make myself available to speak via telephone at a time which is convenient for you or exchanging information via e-mail is also welcomed.  Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Jason Harnish
