To Whom It May Concern:
I am inspired to pursue my teaching career in South Korea due to its unlimited teaching opportunities, cultural difference, and its growing need for excellent teachers. My diverse and intense academic, professional and leadership experiences would make me a valuable asset to your school.
My high level of concentration and excellent organizational skills helped me achieve a strong academic record at TEFL Institute, Illinois State University and Illinois Central College which all reflect my diligence and commitment to success. Rigorous liberal arts courses and a concentration in history and sociology have provided me with a first rate writing ability as well as sharp analytical, problem-solving and research skills. In my senior seminar course, I wrote papers involving in-depth research and analysis in order to prove a specific thesis. I have also developed research skills in a different capacity by completing a history course on Cuba, which culminated in a 10-day research trip that included Havana and Santa Clara, Cuba. In addition, studying in Cuba as well as taking Spanish language classes has greatly expanded my knowledge of different cultures and languages. These two things will be an asset to every ESL school.
Through challenging leadership positions, I have developed a strong sense of responsibility, effective interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute to teamwork, even in high-pressure environments. As an undergraduate teacher¡¯s assistant, I successfully helped to resolve academic and personal issues with students while serving as a positive role model for my peers. With my background in liberal arts, history and sociology, I am confident that I can make a profound contribution to your school.
Attached is my resume for your review. I am enthusiastic about the position and look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Henderson
