Dear Sir or Madam,
I am very excited to apply for the position of E.S.L. teacher at your school. I recently spent a year teaching E.S.L. in Bucheon, South Korea, and I found it to be an amazing and broadening experience.
Before teaching in Korea I had never experienced any culture but my own, American. Living in Korea was challenging at first, but I quickly came to love the culture and the people I met there. I was able to work at an excellent school, where I helped write a new curriculum for literature classes ranging from ages 7 to 12. Although I had to return home for family obligations, I cannot wait to return to Korea, and especially to teaching.
I have always had a passion for teaching. Before I became an English teacher, I worked in student counseling at my University. I was able to tutor individual students, as well as hold small workshops to help students improve their study skills. I learned techniques for creative, engaging teaching. I believe that every person has a desire to learn and a good teacher is primarily responsible for unlocking that desire.
I am very excited for the new opportunities that this job will present. I look forward to hearing from you, and I hope that you will feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for your time and your consideration.
Sincerely,
Katrina Dennison |
