  • Taught English as a foreign language at an international language school in South Korea on a 12-month contract.
  • Responsible for my own class of 10 kindergarten students that I taught for 4 hours every day (Monday-Friday). In the afternoon I taught middle school students who varied in their age and ability.
  • Taught students of all ages, ranging from 4 – 16 years old, and all levels, ranging from ¡®elementary¡¯ to ¡®conversational¡¯.
  • Class sizes varied from 1-to-1 lessons up to 20 students.
  • Devised original lesson plans that were designed to foster learning and encourage participation from all students.
  • Took part in (and helped to organise) field trips, sports days, school open days, market days and parent-teacher interviews.
  • Produced monthly and quarterly ¡®student progress¡¯ reports.
  • Conducted aural and written examinations on a regular basis.
  • Invigilated examinations. 
  • Marked homework, diary submissions and spelling tests.
  • Produced scrap books, photo collages and presentations to ensure that all students had a positive school experience.
  • Taught other subjects including Science.
  • Used a wide range of different teaching material including textbooks, hand-outs, demonstrations, photographs, diagrams, tapes and CD¡¯s.

Working directly for the Financial Controller my main responsibility was dealing with all aspects of the Accounts Payable process. I was also in charge of coordinating the management of queries on our biggest account. Successful negotiations resulted in the resolution of queries totalling £1.5m


 


 


 


 


Mar 07 – May 07                    Soccer Coach  William Levick Primary School


 



  • Solely responsible for a group of 25 eight to eleven year olds. The group was a mixture of boys and girls with varying degree of ability.
  • The aim was to facilitate learning by conducting enjoyable activities and mini-games, to ensure that they gained a positive experience of sport.
  • Used a variety of different equipment to set up drills and exercises that were both fun and educational.
  • Health and safety assessments were carried out prior to each session.
  • Coaching primarily centred around the ¡®fundamentals¡¯ of the game. This focused on passing, dribbling, shooting and tackling skills as well as basic tactics and strategy. 
Ä¿¹ö·¹ÅÍ/À̷¼­

I am a hard-working and ambitious graduate with a real passion for teaching. I simply love working with kids every day and helping them to develop and improve; I find it is such a rewarding job. I have an energetic and enthusiastic teaching style, and find that managing the classroom comes very easily to me. I believe all lessons should be engaging, fun and interactive, with the aid of some original materials. I feel it is important to always put lessons into context and relate the lessons to things the learners have experience of. It is also important to always ensure the learner has a purpose for learning the target language, and that they are given plenty opportunity to practice the language through various types of activities.


 


I also think that some of the most important qualities for a teacher to have are patience, creativity and an inexhaustible supply of energy and enthusiasm! I believe I have these qualities and more, and that I make a great teacher. All of the feedback I have received on my teaching style has been very positive.


 


The Korean Culture has had a profound effect on me. I loved immersing myself in such a unique culture that is both traditional and modern, and I am eager to return as soon as possible. Although I have already experienced what South Korea has to offer I feel that I have merely ¡®scratched the surface¡¯. There is so much more I want to experience and learn about this fascinating country. Having spent a year living and working in Incheon, I have no doubt I would be happy to live the Korean lifestyle once again. I can read Hangul and I have a good grasp of basic spoken Korean, but I am keen to improve my Korean language skills.
