Dear Sir or Madam:
I am currently working in Gunpo city, Gyunggido,South Korea at a Public High school as a conversation teacher. I teach over 500 kids who are in their 2nd year of Korean High school. I also taught for a year in Yongin City, Gyunggido, South Korea at an Immersion Kindergarten school where I taught both kindergarten and elementary classes. I also completed a year contract as an English Teacher at a private academy, the Chung Dahm Institute, in Gwangju, Jeonallnam-do South Korea. I have taught all age ranges from 3 years old to 18 years old. This job has provided me with many professional and personal experiences that can be applied to all future jobs. I am excited to work as an ESL teacher with your organization. I was enrolled in the ESL(TEFL/TESL) teacher certification program through Oxford Seminars. I completed this course at the end of July 2008. I finished as the top student in my class. I have recently, January 2010 and April 2010 upgraded this course to 140 hours with specializations in Teaching Grammar and Business English. I enjoy teaching and the rewards that it brings. I have also coached and taught swimming to children. I speak Spanish, and have studied in Spain and Mexico. I have also worked in Panama, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua. I graduated from Humber College from the International Project Management Diploma Program, with Honours. As a part of my studies at Humber College, I recently completed a two month internship in Nicaragua with the Sick Children¡¯s hospital developing and writing three proposals for submission to donors. I also did my undergraduate degree, at Dalhousie University, in Spanish with a minor in Science. I have experience as part of a Project Assistant in the non-NGO world. I have worked in high paced, offices in the past. I most recently completed an 11 month contract with Saint Mary¡¯s University (as placed through SuperTemp) as a Receptionist for the Dean of Arts Office. I was responsible for maintaining a multi-line phone system, scheduling of appointments for three people. I was fortunate enough to aid in the coordination of a conference at Saint Mary¡¯s for the Irish Studies Department. This included preparing budgets, proposals for funding, travel and accommodations. I was also responsible for maintaining the filing for the entire office, as well as creating new filing systems as required. This position was a great learning tool, and a great challenge. It was also an extremely high paced office, especially during the start and end of the school year. I particularly enjoyed imparting knowledge both in the office setting, as well at the University fair held at Saint Mary¡¯s. I am able to work unsupervised, as well as in a team. I enjoy new challenges, and am always willing to learn and push myself. I am able to work well under pressure and have excellent interpersonal skills. I have worked extensively with MS Word, Excel, Access, FrontPage and other such computer programs. I am available to start immediately, if necessary. I am also very happy and willing to relocate. I look forward to hearing from you! Thank you for your time and help.
Warmest Regards:
Erin McGrail. Encl. |
