Greetings,

Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Michelle.  I am a very social, easy natured, diplomatic and  a kind person who gets along with many different types of people as well as being quite adaptable to various environments both socially and academically. I work very hard, I am passionate, and believe strongly in always working towards being a better human. I enjoy working with people of all ages and I fervently adhere to the belief that everyone has the innate potential to create their opportunities and dreams in life. 

My positive strengths in relation to the teaching job are my patience and creativity.

I have had numerous years of experience working with children and adults in a volunteer and work capacity.   I have done many years of work at the Toronto Children's Aid Society working with children in care that are less privileged and are experiencing many barriers in life. This experience as well as my studies at the University of Toronto in Sociology has given me greater knowledge about human social structure as well being empathetic towards the pursuit of social welfare.  As well I enjoy learning about new cultures and customs. 

My related teaching experience has included work as an Adult Literacy Tutor, after school Coordinator, Teaching children Arts and Crafts, Case Aide (working with Children and their families), Property Ecosystem Naturalization Coordinator, Community Gardens Coordinator, and Daycare Supervisor. 

A few of my goals in life are to gain experience teaching and to one day finish my Masters in Social Work or Education.   As well I would like to travel and learn about a new culture. About 4 years ago, I spent a month with my boyfriend who was teaching in Changwon City, South Korea,  From this experience I fell in love with Korean culture, the city and the people I met there and decided I would one day like to teach in South Korea.   

Some of my hobbies include photography, art and learning to play music and watching soccer.  cycling, jogging, martial arts and Yoga are my favourite activities.  I am also interesting in learning about history, astronomy and cinema.  I am creative and savvy in computer programs.

A few of my achievements over the years have been to successfully finish my Degree, complete many years of volunteer work for the community in Toronto as well as gain great deal of work experience in different disciplines. I have also received an award while at Environment Canada for an outstanding job working on helping to naturalize the property and educate people about the benefits of native plant ecosystems. 

I have also done many years of work in the service industry (Restaurant and Hotel).  I have worked as a Server for health food restaurants as well as catering in hotels and major tourist attractions in Toronto.   This experience has helped me learn how to work quickly and efficiently under pressure while maintaining good customer service.  I am a great team player and look forward to the opportunity to gain experience teaching in Korea.
