My previous experience with children in an academic setting includes multiple volunteer programs. In 2001 I was the after school volunteer for the Kindergarten program at Foothills elementary. Such duties included reading stories to the children, playing games and creating and assisting with art projects. In 1999-2001 I also volunteered for Peoria Headstart. This was a program for under privileged children and included many of the same duties as my role in the after school program. I think these experiences will give me an idea of what to expect with elementary aged classes. |

To Whom It May Concern;
My name is Patrick Murphy and I am a native English speaker interested in a job teaching English in Seoul Korea.
I graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor's in Communication Studies. This degree gave me the insight on communication in its various facets interpersonally, interculturally and professionally. I have a very solid handle on the structure of the English language and have excelled in English and literature throughout my academic career. In addition in 2004 I spent six months in Valencia Spain as a student at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. This experience gave me the perspective of a foreign language learner and the difficulties and challenges my students may face along the way.
I have spent the past three years working in advertising in New York City and Phoenix Arizona. During these three years I have developed both professionally and personally. Although I have thoroughly enjoyed these experiences I know that I am interested in living abroad and have a great interest in teaching English.
