I have completed my bachelors at Northwest University with two majors - Missions/Intercultural studies and Biblical Studies. I continued my education, getting my TESL certification as well as my CNA (certified nursing Assistant). I am currently enrolledat University of Alaska Fairbanks in two business classes.
I have taught a small group while attending school as well as a brief amount of English teaching and sunday school while in Cairo, Egypt for an Internship. I currently help teach Sunday school at my church. |

I am writing to express my excitement in applying for an ESL position in Korea through Adventure Teaching. I have recently finished school with my B.A in an Intercultural/Missions Degree with an additional certification in TESL. I look forward to moving overseas and experiencing a new culture, teaching English as well as learning from the culture around me.
I love the English language and enjoy teaching it. I have always had a passion for teaching and people and will strive to use what I have learned to be the best teacher I can. I have had some experience in writing my own lesson plans and look forward to incorporating some of my ideas in teaching English. I have had plenty of experience with children and would love to work with them. I have had a little bit of overseas experience as referenced in my resume and am excited to learn a new culture during my stay in Korea.
My teaching philosophy includes knowing that every person learns differently and that learning should be a fun process that takes time but should be effective. I believe that the teacher should not only teach but learn. The teacher should know her pupils and be able to teach to their strengths and weaknesses. Teaching should be thorough but leave room for movement. I believe teaching should include games and music as well as peer interaction. Most of all however, I believe that the entire spectrum of English should be taught for the success of the English student.
