Dear Whom it may concern,
My name is Samantha and I’m currently looking for employment as an English teacher in South Korea. I would like to submit my resume in consideration for an open teaching position that will commence in August or September 2010.
As a recent University graduate aspiring to be a teacher I would love to have the opportunity to teach English abroad. I have a great passion for the power of language and communication. My final research in school focused on the process of Language Production and therefore I am educated on the development and learning process of the English language. I am also well versed on the acquisition of English as a second language through my study of Psychology and linguistics. I would like to apply my knowledge of learning and developing a foreign language through the art of teaching, preferably while immersed with in a different culture.
My previous volunteer and paid positions have allowed me to gain extensive coaching and teaching experience. I have instructed various age groups and levels of sports teams, from elementary to high school, as well as summer camps. I truly enjoy promoting and being part of the social, physical and mental growth of children. I also have experience counseling and facilitating youth’s through my role as a Child Development Service worker. As a specials needs teacher’s assistant I was able to develop sensitivity to student’s unique and individual needs as well as ways to promote positive encouragement and reinforcement. Maintaining motivation and focus by implementing and fostering a creative, communicative and hand-ons environment are also skills I have acquired.
Personally I am very open-minded, adventurous, trustworthy and extremely adaptable. I strive on change and growth which is why I find teaching to be an exhilarating profession. My passion for language development and the joy I receive from being involved in the learning process is precisely why I would be an excellent candidate for an English teaching position in South Korea. I look forward to an opportunity where I can apply my education and experience to a job that will allow me to excel in something I truly enjoy.
