°ÀÇ°æÇè I have experience teaching English in Korea and Japan. I recently, completed a six month contract with Seongnam English Town, in Bundang.

Along with my teaching students, I have many years of experience working with children.
Ä¿¹ö·¹ÅÍ/À̷¼ Dear ESL Agent:

I am writing in regards to your recent posting for an English teacher in Seoul. I have attached my resume and other supporting documents for your review. As exemplified in my resume I have a strong background in ESL education in Asia and I am looking to return to Korea because I have had such positive and rewarding experiences.
My most recent job was with Seongnam English Town (SNET). In this position I taught and interacted with students from various economic and educational backgrounds from the Seongnam community. One of SNET's main goals is to introduce students to the English language in an interactive and positive learning environment. By providing students with a positive foundation the students develop a passion and desire to learn English so they can be successful in the global landscape. I truly enjoyed this experience because I was able to work with students from diverse backgrounds and help them overcome their fear and anxiety of speaking English. I excelled in this position because I was able to easily relate to the students and provide them with a strong model to be successful.
In addition to my teaching duties I was also responsible for researching, creating, and implementing various lesson plans and a special summer program based on social justice and environmental awareness. This added responsibility was rewarding because I was able to oversee my ideas from beginning to end and witness my students learning and enjoying my own lesson plans.
Prior to working in Korea I taught English in Japan. My first contract was as an English counselor. Myself along with 20 other Americans were responsible for administering an extensive English program for students ranging from pre-school to university students. This was an invaluable experience because I was introduced to the Asian educational system and hone my teaching skills. At the completion of my first contract I was invited back to serve as a supervisor. This leadership position required much more responsibility and flexibility. My main duty was to develop, create, and ensure the successful implantation of two pilot programs. I am proud to say that both programs were very successful and well-received during a presentation to the Nagasaki Board of Education.
In addition to my experiences in Asia I have studied and traveled extensively in other countries. I believe this gives me a unique perspective and teaching style because I have witnessed first-hand the advantages speaking English provides. I was lucky to be born in the U.S.A. and speak English as a first language, therefore, I find it really rewarding to share my knowledge and experiences with students so they can navigate the world and truly be global citizens.
Furthermore, I have attempted to learn new languages with native speakers and I can appreciate and understand the difficulty and frustration of learning a language. I believe this is a tremendous experience because I can better relate to the students and I am able to create more interactive, applicable, and effective lessons.
My passion for working with young people and teaching experience provide me with the unique ability to thrive in this position. I am confident my flexible and creative teaching style will greatly benefit your school and students. I look forward to discussing this position and my qualifications with you in more detail. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Yang A. Yang
