I am pleased to present my resume to you for consideration as an ESL Teacher. I possess a Bachelor of Arts Degree and I am New York State certified to teach Elementary Education grades 1 through 6.
Throughout my collegiate years I have seized all opportunities to enhance my ability to better understand, work with, and educate children. I spent the summer of 2007 as a counselor and softball coach at Camp Indian Head in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. It was a very rewarding and enlightening experience spending several months interacting with kids, many who were away from home for the first time, on a full-time basis.
After a competitive application process, I was selected from the SUNY campuses to travel to Australia in the fall of 2009 to complete a nine week student teaching placement. This trip provided valuable insight into another country’s educational programs and systems. I found ways to incorporate Australia experiences into the curriculum while completing my student teaching requirements in New York upon my return. I taught my fourth grade class about Biomes around the world and opened the door of communication between my American and Australian students.
Through the course of educational and work experiences, I have had the opportunity to teach diverse groups of students, including some with disabilities. I incorporate teaching strategies that maximize comprehension and modify lesson plans to ensure their effectiveness for all students. It is essential that all students recognize their potential and receive a world class education.
I am a confident and passionate teacher and would be a positive role model in student’s lives as well as in the community.
