°ÀÇ°æÇè Oct 2008 – Feb 2009 English Language Teaching Assistant, Austria:
I worked as a teaching assistant in two schools in Austria and during this time:
I developed excellent, adaptable teaching skills through delivering informative and interesting lessons to suit pupils of varying ages (11-18) with varying levels of competence in English. Excellent organisational skills were gained through creating and planning lessons on a wide range of subjects. I developed excellent communication skills in both English and German when discussing the curriculum with other teachers and taking their professional advice in the classroom. I proved myself to be a dedicated teacher who created an English Club providing students with the opportunity to improve their English with me outside of school hours. I was also recommended for private tuition by several colleagues and carried out independent conversation and grammar lessons with three adults.

June 2008 Abraham Moss High School, Manchester UK:
During this time I worked in the German department as a classroom assistant. I gained invaluable teaching and leading experience when delivering segments or complete lessons. I also developed excellent presentation skills through work as a mentor, promotion further education to the pupils and providing answers and support when needed. While at the school I demonstrated good teamwork skills when writing and delivering a further education presentation with three co-workers.
Ä¿¹ö·¹ÅÍ/À̷¼ After spending a year living, working and studying abroad in Austria and Germany I returned to Manchester to complete the final year of my degree. As happy as I am to be home, I am now suffering from itchy feet and have been eagerly planning my next adventure. This time I have set my sight further afield. Living in Austria and Germany was an amazing experience and being able to speak the language meant I really got the most out of my time there. However, as different as some aspects of the cultures were to what I was used to, much of what I experienced there was very familiar. This was helpful and comforting for my first long-term venture away from the UK but it has left me with a desire to immerse myself in a culture entirely different to what I am used to, totally out of my comfort zone.
I enjoyed my teaching post in Austria more than I had expected to. I knew it would be a challenge and that I would learn a lot but I had not expected to have so much fun or develop such an affinity for teaching. There is no doubt in my mind as to what I want to spend my working life doing; teaching is the only area of employment in which I can imagine myself. Working as an English teacher in Korea would be the perfect way to combine my desire to travel and my love of teaching. Not only would it give me the opportunity to experience what this beautiful and fascinating country has to offer, but it would be excellent experience for my future career. I also believe that, with my talent for languages, I will be able to learn Korean and maybe even Hangul, which will allow me to really immerse myself in Korean life.
Along with the work experience documented in the above section, I have studied two course units at university which have really helped me to develop my teaching skills. Although they did not lead to an actual TESOL qualification, I took both an ¡°Introduction to TEFL¡± and an ¡°Introduction to TESOL¡± course. During these courses we covered a great deal of educational and language learning theory, and were able to observe English language lessons within the university Language Centre. The assessment involved theory-based coursework, exams and the design and delivery of a lesson. I achieved an average of a 2:1 and learnt a lot of very important teaching skills.
