To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to you with regards to the current vacancy to Teach English as Foreign Language. I am passionate about a career in teaching as it will enable me to have a positive effect on young people’s thinking and lives. I am eager to develop my experience in working with young people as I enjoy seeing them learn and achieve. Although I understand teaching can be extremely challenging and demanding at times, it can also be very rewarding.
I am particularly interested in teaching in Korea as it is an excellent way to experience the Korean culture, customs and behaviours. I will have the honour of teaching English to Korean students and sharing my own culture with them. The students will also teach me their own language which will be extremely beneficial for my career in Korea.
I believe that I am an ideal candidate for this position as I have excellent organisation and communication skills, an outstanding work ethic and the ability to work with students of all ages. I have demonstrated in previous work experiences that I am a dedicated, enthusiastic and gregarious person.
I have had the opportunity to function in a variety of educational settings making it easier to adapt to new situations and faculty concepts.
➢ I am currently working in a South Korean Academy teaching English as a Foreign Language. This experience has developed my skills in key areas such as classroom management, organisation and design of class material. I am proficient in the classroom with an established teaching style and I also have a good understanding of Korean culture, which I believe has made me a stronger teacher.
➢ I have completed a TEFL course, which has furthered my understanding of Teaching English as Foreign Language. During the course I have been praised on my ability to incorporate personalisation and a relaxed conversational tone to introduce a variety of topics.
➢ I have previously worked in two English nurseries which have increased my desires to work with young people. I really enjoyed working with Key Stage 1 and 2 (ages 3-10) children and the energy they project.
