Dear sir/madam,
My name is Martin Boswell, and I am currently looking for a new school to teach at. I am available to start work this month, June of 2010.
I hold a BFA from the College of Santa Fe, NM. My educational background is in theatre and performance, skills and training I use to help me to emphasize, to entertain, and to maintain good classroom management. I have relied heavily on that background for the energy and presentation skills needed to reach out and connect to students, to hold their attention, make them laugh, and make an impact. I think that learning should be fun, engaging, and interesting.
My four years in Korea have been spent at private language academies. They were all challenging and great experiences that imbued me with self-confidence and respect for the private educational system. I've taught kids everything from how to read, how to write speeches and poetry, to baking a pizza from scratch. I've directed classrooms of 20 six-year-olds in school plays and song performances and prepared adults one-on-one for exams and interviews.
I've been consistent and dependable and a valued employee. I'm positive, energetic and enjoy helping my students achieve their goals. My students have ranged in age from five to fifty-five, from those just beginning to learn the alphabet to those studying the classics of English literature.
In addition to teaching English, I have logged over 200 hours of voice recording for studios in Korea such as YBM, working on projects from stories for kids to exams for pilots and university students.
