My name is Matt and I am writing to express my interest in the ESL teaching position. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a minor in Finance from Indiana University South Bend in August 2009.
As an undergraduate I was involved in a number of extracurricular activities. Under the supervision of the economics department, I worked as a supplemental instructor in statistics helping students that were struggling with applied statistical methods. I also tutored statistics and economics through the campus tutoring center. Most of my teaching experience consists of instructing small groups of adults ages 18 to 35. I have also spent one summer working for a non-profit organization that provided recreational activities for young children with various physical and mental handicaps.
Given the opportunity to teach, you will find that I possess an exceptional work ethic, a commitment to students, and the ability to exceed the standards becoming of a teacher.
