I am applying for this position because I feel my knowledge and experience fits the functions of this job. In particular, I am interested in factors that help the community successfully to improve the societal and economical problems.
I currently earned my Masters of Science in Management because it helped me learn invaluable steps in helping me to achieve my objectives. It enabled me to review the problems and come up with feasible solutions to problems that may exist in the community. It also helped me in the structure of the organization and its programs. Subsequent to earning my Masters in Management helped me form the needed and invaluable organization throughout the community.
I joined Pratt Community College to get my Associates Degree in Communications. Here I learned the many different forms of communications including mass and business communications. I served as the Page Design Editor (Assistant Editor in Chief) as well as the photographer, reporter and several page editor positions in the college newspaper. I also wrote stories for the Pratt Tribune (town) newspaper and did office work/distributing for the college newspaper. I received a community college award for all the work I did for the
college newspaper and office work. I then went to Wichita State University, where I founded a diversity organization that had the purpose to bring multiculturalism to the school. With hard work and effort I believe I had instilled into the WSU students the importance
of loving everyone no matter whom one is. For this organization, I did strategic planning, graphics design, public relation and office skills. I also have done tutoring English for non native speakers, tutoring and counseling for other organizations.
My most recent position was with an afterschool position. This position was teaching English from 3rd grade to 6th grade. I was much more than a teacher, I chose to mentor them even after school hours. If they had a problem, they could come to me and I would help
them. A teacher is not just for the classroom.
I have learned a lot from my recent position. With the rest of my team, I have seen the students needs and set up possible solutions to these problems. With many methods of research and analyzing problems, we came up with working solutions that best fit the students. We also used organizational skills to establish the program at certain days and times that best fit when the programs were needed. These assignments have involved interaction with people from
supervisors, students and the parents. All this has strengthened my caring for the community, my analysis skills and my public relation skills.
I also found out time was critical. I provided needed English studies through a variety of methods so one would not have to go without. I provided the students with a teacher that cared for them in every step of the way.
Note: I am an energetic, fun-loving, patient, dedicated, and creative person. So I expect the school to actually like this personality but not see it as a bad thing in the long run. I am currently in Korea and my school saw these traits as not for their school. My director said he will give me a strong recommendation for my teaching though.
So if the school is looking for someone with this personality and does not see it as not for their school, I really have a passion for teaching and love teaching children. Most of the children would agree I care for them and want to help them.
I am currently in Korea (Daegu) and looking for other employment. My current Director will give a good reference even though I was released and the name of the school is on my resume. Anyway, for the application the school's name is Kensington Academy. |
