To Whom It May Concern,
I saw your postings for an English teacher in Seoul. Having previously spent over a year teaching in Incheon I very much look forward to returning and bringing the benefits of my experience to the youth of South Korea. I’ve furthered my understanding of the value of English in the age of globalization and believe I’m more capable than most to imbue in my students the passion for English necessary for them to succeed. Let me give you 3 reasons for why you should consider me for this position:
1. I love children - I have always enjoyed working with children. From my volunteer work as a Boy Scout growing up in Iowa to working with my college's outreach program to local elementary schools I've striven to be a positive influence on the children in my life. I welcome any chance to lend my openness, patience, and experience to our younger generations.
2. Good communication and writing skills - Working at a law firm one must possess a strong grasp of the English language. It is essential that all communication between the legal department and the clients be clear and well understood by all parties. Our clientèle represent a diverse cultural cross-section which required an ability to tailor each conversation to meet their specific needs.
3. Strong leadership skills - Throughout my school career I led countless study groups for classes in all ranges of disciplines. One of my inspirations to teach in Korea came from my experience studying with Korean exchange students from Seoul during their first years abroad. I now realize that the pleasure of helping them to overcome the cultural and language barriers in our country planted the seed of my desire to teach English as a foreign language abroad.
Teaching is a career path that offers many rewards and I could not be more excited about the prospect of coming back to Korea to further this interest. Working with students in Seoul would be a great way for me to make a difference, and with my experience at conceiving plans and putting projects into motion, I'm sure I could impact you very quickly and offer your students an unparalleled educational experience.
