After examining your position, and doing research into the Korean education system, I feel I would be the perfect candidate for the position. I believe myself to be a talented employee who is dedicated to the art and profession of teaching. I love discovering new countries and cultures, and feel I could benefit your school. I am a quick and enthusiastic learner and hope to pass on my attitude to those I teach.
Although I have no professional experience in teaching, I believe I have the tools and talents to become a valued member of your team. As the head telephonist at Domino’s Pizza, I was given the task of training and teaching new recruits. Our recruits were usually in the age range of 15 to 17, so I have experience with training teenagers. I had to exercise my teaching, information, and communication skills by showing them how to work the computer system. I also had to instruct them on being courteous with customers. I taught them how to communicate and interact with customers as clearly and responsibly as possible, to ensure orders taken were as satisfactory as possible.
At university, I hosted student union charity events. They involved me setting up, and hosting auctions, as well as music nights. I believe this taught me a lot about dealing with crowds and classes full of people. It allowed me to exercise my charisma on the microphone, and aided my ability to instruct and keep people’s attention.
I successfully completed my teaching English as a foreign language course, and am well versed in the foundations of classroom preparation and teaching. I have been taught how to manage classrooms full of children and teenagers, and possess a deep knowledge of how to interact with, and engross students during lessons.
I have a comprehensive understanding of the English language. I hold a GCSE and A Level in English Language & Literature. I also minored in Creative & Professional Writing at university. In my spare time I write articles for a sporting website called the13thround.com, and am the contributing film writer for the lifestyle magazine Gravity Guide. I also enjoy acting in amateur film productions, which I believe would benefit my duties and skills as a teacher and classroom speaker. I am available to travel to South Korea as soon as needed, and hope to be of great benefit to your institution. I look forward to hearing from you.
