As part of my CELTA course I had to prepare and execute several classes to adult of mixed age and nationality.
I taught arts and craft classes to children, as well as a group of adults with mental disability at Limerick Printmakers. |

Dear Sir/Madam,
My resume and references show you my technical abilities so I will not bore you by repeating them. I would like to tell you my first hand experience of seeing how English learned through exposure to native speakers is so important to a students education.
In my third year of college, myself and another Irish student lived with Doyup Lee, a Korean student now working in Seoul.
Doyup studied in a local language school in Limerick but by night would talk with us and our friends and he would often come with us to music venues, exhibitions and other events. At the end of his language course Doyup did significantly better in his exams than his fellow classmates. While he was a dedicated student, much of his success he accounted to his living and talking with my friends and I, while his classmates who chose to live with other korean students did not get the exposure to native speaking he had in the evenings with us.
From this example there is no doubting the benefit native speaking has on the students ability to learn english, in contrast to learns from texts books.
I am excited to teach in South Korea given the excellent reputation of it's language schools and hope you consider me for a position. I have experience traveling, I travel across the United State and played music for tips on my own in 2007, so home sickness will not be an issue.
Also, my background in arts and craft could create many interesting and unusual class activities, allowing students to learn while having fun and making something to take home with them.
