Dear ESL Agent Recruiter:
I am a United States of America citizen and a graduate of Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. I discovered your posting on craigslist.com and found interest in the English Teacher positions you have in South Korea.
In addition to achieving a degree in Washington State University, I have participated in extracurricular activities which I feel have provided relevant experience in becoming a teacher. In school, I have tutored my peers on course material they fell behind in. As an officer for the Filipino American Student Association, I have facilitated meetings and organized annual events before an audience of college students. As a member of the Hawaii Club, I volunteered to participate in the Pen-pal program, where we are partnered with an elementary student (from the local elementary school) and write each other friendly weekly letters. During the SHAPING conference, I took the role as a team leader. A team leader is in charge of a group of high school students where the ultimate goal is to inspire them to pursue a higher education. This was achieved by touring them around the WSU campus, attending informative workshops, and answering their questions about college life.
With my previous experiences, I believe I am an appropriate candidate for a position in teaching English as a second language. I currently do not hold a working visa, but I have the following documents ready: Criminal background check (notary stamp) with apostille, passport, diploma, and seal official transcripts. Preferably, I would like to teach kindergarten to elementary aged students at a public school in Seoul. I am available to start teaching as soon as possible and can be called for an interview any day of the week during the afternoon, evenings, and nights.
