Although I do not have any formal teaching experience, I have volunteered for many after sermon programs at my church for children ranging from preschool to 8th grade. I have also volunteered for many Vocational Bible School (VBS) programs, which included children's programs in Daytona beach, FL, and Ontario, CA. I was also a participant of the Big Sister, Little Sister mentoring program at my church for two years; this program encouraged a bonding and mentoring relationship between a child between the ages of 10-15 and an adult. I feel I have the compassion and the drive to teach these children in the most positive way, and would love the opportunity to leave my imprint on their growing minds. |

I am writing in response to your ad for an English teaching position, posted through and Internet advertisement. I am a recent graduate from the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), located in Atlanta, Georgia, and have graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with a focus in Interior Design. Although my passion lies within the arts, I have discovered that my desire to lead the younger generation by molding them into intelligent, independent, and well-rounded individuals has grown immensely within the past few years.
Although I have no formal teaching experience, I have volunteered for many after sermon lessons and activity programs at my former church. The age class for these children ranged from pre-school to 8th grade; and although I love children of all ages, I find that my experience will show its full potential when teaching kindergarten to middle school grades.
My experience with English teaching has also grown throughout my college education. I have been and am still currently partaking in essay revision work with past and currently enrolled SCAD students. A large majority of my revision work comes from the Korean student body, who often have trouble with grammar and spelling. This quality, I believe, will also assist me immeasurable in teaching the English language to children in Korea.
My passion and strengths that I know will shine through my experience include my ability to show compassion to all children in any situation, grow accustomed to almost any environment, instruct and lead in an organized and effective manner, be able to handle negative situations professionally and immediately, and to work and instruct in fun and creative ways. I have a strong work ethic, mature communication skills, as well as time management skills and an attention to detail. I find that my nurturing instincts and empathetic nature make it easy for me to grow personally bonded to the children that I work with, and ensures that my desire for their success is as strong as my desire to achieve my own goals and achievements. All of this, combined with my previous experiences with young children, I believe, will make me an excellent candidate for your school.
