Please accept my application for a teaching position at the elementary level in your school district. I have completed a four years bachelor degree of science with honours. Additionally I’ve successfully complete 120 hours of TESOL training with an advanced certificate in teaching TOFEL and a specialization in grammar. I believe that my combined academic and work experiences make me an ideal candidate for the position.
I am currently eleven months into my one year teaching contract with the Incheon School Board. This position enables me to create interesting lesson plans that encourage the students to be comfortable in using conversational English. Managing different abilities among my students has proved a difficult but satisfying challenge. I continually tailor activities to maintain a high level of interest; however, I’m constantly aware of each students abilities and I try not to cause intimidation to less skilled English speakers.
In my undergraduate years at the University of Toronto, a passion for teaching created an opportunity for me to work as a tutor for a wide range of students, ages nine to twenty. These tutoring experiences have developed my skills in helping my students build confidence in their abilities, both academically and socially.
