Dear Sir or Madam,
I really am a fantastic teacher, a complete package. I know what I am doing in the classroom. Whether it is writing, reading, listening, speaking, grammar, SAT, TOEFL, history, political science or even drama, students enjoy my classes and are quite eager to follow my style of instruction so that they acquire the utility of English.
I use my fluency in Korean, and my Mensa IQ, to develop deeper relationships with the students, which increases their desire to learn from me. This is not a crutch but rather a very useful tool.
I give 100% of myself to my students' experiences and education. For example, in my last school, I wrote and directed 2 plays that the students performed on stage in front of scores of parents, teachers and friends. This was a project that took hundreds of hours of my personal time. I did this voluntarily and with very limited support from the school. The students were worth it, and the pride on their faces afterward was reward enough.
I have written many of my own course materials and in fact am in the middle of developing a comprehensive English course for Korean students of all levels.
My successful approach has taken years of hard work to hone into a valuable asset for any classroom. As you can imagine, I am particular about where I work and hope to find a position wherein my skills can be most utilized and my experience most appreciated.
I am able to start at any time.
My ideal position has the following parameters:
1). Workday finishes by 3 or 4pm, Mon-Fri.
2). At least 2 weeks off during Summer/Winter vacation, but even more is ideal (paid/unpaid).
You will notice that I did not include a salary expectation. More important to me is the time spent and with whom I am committing my time.
I realize that no job is perfect and that not all things are possible. In this spirit I remain flexible and am willing to negotiate for the right position. I trust that you also share this approach to hiring.
Also, I recently saw an ad stating that "People over 30 are also encouraged to apply." I was surprised by this. I have as much if not more energy than my younger colleagues and the experience to go with it. You would be seriously remiss to underestimate my drive or flexibility based on my age.
