I have just finished my first year of teaching in a Korean hagwon and I am now looking for a new full time one year contract to start around the beginning of March 2010. During my time at my previous school, I learnt a great deal about teaching English and I am now very eager to continue my Korean adventure.
I am an energetic, reliable and hardworking person and I believe that these qualities help me to be an excellent English Language teacher. My priority is to make learning interesting and fun as I believe that this approach makes for the most effective way of developing language skills.
I have experience teaching children aged 6 to 16 and I enjoyed all of these age groups and the different challenges that they present. I am very focussed on my role as a speaking teacher and I always work hard to encourage as much conversation as possible in my classes by using a variety of teaching methods, classroom materials and language games.
In my previous role I worked very well with my Korean co-teachers and I made a big effort to learn about Korea¡¯s culture and traditions to ensure a smooth working relationship.
Asides from the teaching aspect, I have found life in Korea to be very enjoyable. I love the food, the friendliness of the Korean people, the culture and I have endeavoured to study the language so as to build better relationships with the people. After only one short year in Korea, I consider it to be a second home.
For these reasons I believe that I would be a strong addition to any ESL school in Korea.
