To Whom It May Concern:
I wish to apply for an English teaching position in Korea through ESL Agent. I have been in Korea since April 2009 and will soon have one year of teaching experience. I have enjoyed my time in Korea and am looking forward to another year. Over the past year I have gained some great experience and have watched myself improve significantly as a teacher.
Prior to coming to Korea I worked in a variety of jobs in which I gained professional and leadership experience. As a camp counselor I had the chance to work with children of all ages in a challenging, outdoor environment. As a member of the Residence Life staff at Augsburg College, I held a position of leadership among my peers. I gained invaluable experience resolving interpersonal conflicts, planning educational events, and promoting a safe and healthy community. As a fundraiser for Augsburg I developed strong communication skills as I worked toward a cause I believed in.
I believe my teaching experience and abilities as a leader are my most valuable traits. I have also had the chance to work cooperatively with large, diverse staffs in Korea and the U.S. These skills will serve as a strong foundation as I continue my work as an English teacher.
