Dear , I wish to participate as a full-time English teacher in Korea from Feb or March 2010., teaching kinder-elementary students. To introduce myself briefly, my name is Eury Kim and I am 27. I was born is Korea and came to Australia when I was 11 with my family. I grew up and am still living in Mosman, a North shore suburb in Sydney, that is an extremely westernized area with a lot of people who live wealthy and high life style. After graduating Mosman High School that been recognized as a center of excellence in senior studies, I was successfully accepted by University of New South Wales, Bachelor of Design degree. While I studied in University of New South Wales, I started my first teaching career at DtoF Fine Art College as a part time visual art theory teacher, teaching art history and essay writings in well-developed structures and correct grammars to ESL high school students. I also taught speaking English to year 12 Korean oversea students who were preparing university interviews and this involved guiding pronunciations and exercising unexpected interview questions and answers fluently. I managed to build up well-organized curriculum for more effective results in students’ English proficiency, basing on question & answer by using IELTS speaking exercise materials. I also taught conversational English to local Seoul National University students in 2005, while I was an exchange student of Seoul National University. I continuously taught English to Korean oversea students for 3 years, providing one to one private tutoring lessons. Currently I am working in a fine jewelry company, Fairfax and Roberts Bespoke Jeweler in Sydney as a production manager. My role is involved in design workshop management, financial administration and repair & redesign consultations with clients. I have developed a strong management and problem solving skills through the operations and management of the most successful jewelry company in Australia. Although I cannot deny that I love teaching and children. That is why I decide to pursue teaching career over my professional career in jewelry industry. I have strong knowledge about Western educational system and culture, excellent problem solving skill, administrative and teaching experience, to equip me to make a significant contribution as a teacher. As a Korean-Australian, I feel compelling to share my experience and knowledge built up here in Australia for 15 years with ESL students who need to know how to gain confidence and fluency in English. With my personal interests of art, music and psychology, and my 10 years of work experiences in fine jewelry retail industry, which allowed me to develop my verbal communications skills, I am capable to create not only professional but also friendly learning environment for students who may be easily intimidated with the language.
