°ÀÇ°æÇè I have worked with children here in Durango, CO but my duty was to supervise the children, not to teach.  So I kept them entertained by playing all kinds of games, getting them to color and build things.  I am also going to be doing some substitute teaching around here coming up for the spring semester if I have not yet secured a position teaching abroad.
Ä¿¹ö·¹ÅÍ/À̷¼ The more I travel, the more I can¡¯t imagine a life without it.  There is so much perspective to be gained through the knowledge and most importantly, experience obtained through travel.  I¡¯ve lived in Colorado my whole life and have become an avid skier, climber, backpacker, kayaker, skydiver, etc.  You name it out here, and I do it.  I have also spent a half year in Italy studying abroad.  What a fantastic experience that was.  I was fortunate enough to be able to live with one of the locals and live in a non-tourist destination, forcing me to learn much more Italian than I otherwise would have.  In my first 24 hours in Italy, I had been jumped in the streets, got lost in the city afterwards and then came home to find the woman living above my apartment dead at the entrance to my building (She had thrown herself off of the balcony just above ours).  Though my family was in shock and wanted me to come home, I was not deterred in the slightest.  I know that traveling will almost inevitably throw you a curve ball, but having the mindset that you will not be deterred and there¡¯s something to learn from every situation is something I have found to be critical in turning a bad situation into a beneficial one.
This open mindset and malleability I have found is very useful in dealing with children.  I have spent some time volunteering and watching over young children here in Durango, Colorado at the Children¡¯s Museum.  I love kids, so it was more like having a couple of hours of play time towards the end of the day than anything else.  I would watch over them while the employees would have their occasional meetings.  I also have a nephew who I have been spending time teaching him how to rock climb as he wants to be like his uncle when he grows up and climb towers.  Through these and many other experiences, I understand the importance of taking different approaches with different youngsters in order to grab their attention to hold it to a task.  I may have a degree in Accounting, but believe me when I say that nobody would believe it for the longest time due to my outgoing personality and lack of the accountant stereotype.  I just chose that particular degree because it will be most useful when I start my own business after law school, which will come after I take a year or two and teach abroad.  I feel that I have much to offer young aspiring students in other countries who wish to learn my language to better themselves for the future, while having tons of fun in the process.
