To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Andrew Hartzell and I am interested in finding a full time teaching position through your company. I found this position through English Spectrum and feel that teaching fits with my goals and personality. I have been teaching English in Seoul, South Korea for a year now. I am a native English speaker from the United States and I am in the process of completing my TEFL certificate. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Connecticut College, one of the strongest liberal arts institutions in my country. Additionally, before attending Connecticut College I attended Tabor Academy, one of the finest preparatory academies on the East Coast. I feel that with my skills, work ethic, and professional attitude I would be a valuable addition to your program.
I have frequently been described as a dedicated, hard working individual with a drive to succeed. I am always very passionate about what I do and throw myself at each and every challenge with an open mind and a willingness to learn. Throughout the course of my academic, athletic, and professional life I have held a variety of leadership positions that have given me great confidence in my abilities. This past year working as an English teacher has taught me a lot about myself how much I enjoy working with kids, however this is not my first time I have found myself in the role of a teacher. While at Connecticut College I worked with a program called Kids, Books, and Athletics. This program was involved in working with underprivileged school children from the local area. Several times a week students from the college would meet with the students from the area and participate in a variety of activities. Some days I would find myself working in the library helping a child with his/her reading and writing. Other days I would find myself on the sports fields helping kids understand the importance of staying in good physical health. I tutored several U.S. students in preparation for their exams, MCAS, and SATs. Most recently I have been tutoring a native Korean that graduated from an American university. I have traveled through several countries in Europe and most recently spent time in Latin America. These experiences have helped open my eyes to the rest of the world and made me realize that a person with my education has a responsibility to help educate others. With the education I have received, especially with my background in English, and the experience of this past year, I feel that I am equipped to successfully work for your program.

My current contract expires at the end of February 2010, but because of other positions that I am considering I would appreciate your timely and courteous response.
