Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing in response to your advertisement, regarding the native English teaching position. With my skills gained through education, living internationally, and my volunteer teaching experience, I believe that I would make a valuable contribution to any school as an English teacher.
During my undergraduate education at Bradley University I studied international studies, with a focus on Asian Studies. This training has given me an appreciation and understanding of Asian cultures, which well better help me to adapt to living and working in Korea. I was also required to study a language, of which I have studied Spanish and Russian. These experiences have given me appreciation and understanding for the difficulties of learning a foreign language, which is important for a language teacher to understand. I maintain a healthy interest in language learning, and see learning new languages as a great opportunity for connecting with new people internationally and domestic.
In addition to the academic study international studies, I also spent time traveling and living abroad, primarily in developing nations, which afforded me the opportunity to match real world experience with academic knowledge. Primarily I have traveled in East Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. These experiences were invaluable, and were beyond what could be comprehended in a classroom.
I feel that the combination of my academic training, real world experience, and my strong desire to help make a difference in student’s lives makes me an excellent candidate for this position. I look forward to speaking with you regarding this opportunity. Thank you for your time and consideration.
