English Teaching Position

To Whom It May Concern:

¾È³çÇϼ¼¿ä.

¿½É.  I will bring, to the classroom, a passion for helping children and a commitment to improve their future.  As I stood in front of a classroom of energetic, young  Koreans for the first time, I remembered how I used to gather all of the neighborhood children to teach them the games I had created when I was a small child.  Today, I use that same passion for communicating ideas to organize lessons, activities and games to motivate my students.  It is my goal in every class session to involve all of the students and show them it is fun to learn.  If this is done sucessfully, students will want to come to class, will be excited about the lessons and will remember them much longer.  I continually strive to find new and creative ways to help my students find or rediscover their own passion for learning.

°³¼º.  I will bring to the classroom an open mind and a fun style of teaching that reflects my personality.  I have always done well with children, and I easily adapt to situations that require flexibility.  I am even-tempered and cheerful.  I¡¯m outgoing and thoroughly enjoy meeting, working and socializing with all types of people.  I take direction well, but also know when to step up and take charge.  I always make sure the students know that I am open, available and happy to take their questions, so they will feel comfortable enough to approach me about anything that may be on their minds.

Èï¹Ì.  I have a thirst for knowledge and an insatiable curiosity about the world.  Korean culture intrigues me.  I have been studying the Korean language for the last 6 months.  By studying Korean, I am able to better understand some of the more common mistakes my Korean students make in English.  I also have a better understanding of the differences between English and Korean, which helps me organize and deliver my lesson plans.  I have a great respect for the integrity of Korean people and the rich traditions of the country.  I have spent a year diving head-first into the culture and soaking up as much of it as possible.  I know I have so much more to learn and can¡¯t wait for the chance to go back.

±Ù¸éÇÑ.  Balancing a full-time job with a full-time class schedule was an especially challenging experience during university.  However, it conditioned me to be able to handle a hectic teaching schedule well.  Last year,  I taught seven to eight, 50-minute classes every Monday through Friday at my previous Çпø.  Managing over 30 different classes each week was a great lesson in organization and time-management.  I work hard to do a good job in every class.  I have the ability to work a flexible schedule, and I am very willing to put in extra hours and of course, extra effort.  I enjoy any opportunity to expand my knowledge and understanding of the world, especially Korea.  I am confident in my potential to contribute to the children of Korea as much as they have already and will undoubtedly continue to contribute to me.

Thank you for your time and consideration.  I look forward to speaking with you soon.

°¨»çÇÕ´Ï´Ù.

Sincerely,

Lisa Hicks
