Laurence Tourangeau
Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggido, South Korea
Dear Director,
I am currently employed as an English teacher in Pyeongtaek, South Korea teaching elementary and middle school students since December, 2008. I have completed the TESOL/TESL certification in June, 2008 from Oxford Seminars and have upgraded my certification by finishing the Teaching English to Children course with Honours. I am writing to you to apply for a position with your school as a teacher of English as a Second Language for students at the pre-school, elementary or high school level.
Effective teachers are enthusiastic, yet organized enough to create a dynamic, positive learning environment. Additionally, successful teachers are patient and motivated to encourage individual students to reach their full potential as learners of a second language. As a teacher, I possess the responsibility and organizational skills to plan lessons to address the learning styles of all students and the enthusiasm and patience to help individual students succeed.
In addition to my teaching experience, my years as a senior level computer consultant in client support for an Indian owned company in Columbus, Ohio have prepared me with the skills to teach English overseas. My responsibilities included communicating with clients, programmers, managers and technical staff to identify and correct my clients¡¯ time sensitive issues in a friendly, high energy client support environment. These skills and experiences will enable me to succeed in teaching ESL within your school.
The enclosed resume provides an outline of my education and experience which have prepared me well for a career in teaching. I hope that we can arrange an interview at your convenience. Thank you for your time and your consideration of my application.
Respectfully,
Laurence Tourangeau
