Sarah R. Crouch
Dunsan-Dong, Daejeon, South Korea
To Whom It May Concern,
Having completed my educational classes at North Carolina Central University, I am now seeking an educational position abroad. The Middle Grades Social Studies program is a supplement to my Bachelor of Arts in History from East Carolina University. Working with students in the Museum and Library fields inspired me to return to college to become a teacher.
I have been working in Daejeon, South Korea since March 2009. I work for Avalon English School teaching Middle Grades speaking and writing classes. I have been responsible for preparing my students for the IBT TOEFL. I have also worked with students one-on-one to prepare them for their high school entrance exams. I have really enjoyed my stay in Korea and would like to extend my Visa for another year.
For three years, I taught at an educational program run by Carolina Correctional Services that served long-termed suspended, special education students from Wake County. My teaching experience, working mainly with BED students, has prepared me in classroom management. I have taught in self-contained middle and high school classrooms, dealing with students from grades 6th through 11th. I have taught a wide range of subjects, including various Social Studies classes, General Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, English, Occupational Course of Study, and Earth Science. I also taught a year at Kerr-Vance Academy. I was responsible for the Middle Grades Social Studies curriculum of World Geography and North Carolina History.
I have come to realize how vital education is in preparing young people to achieve successes in all of their endeavors. I hope to instill a love of learning and a desire for constant knowledge within each student. My experience in social studies, history, math, and English, as well as my broad life experiences, will help teach students to succeed in a diverse and constantly changing world.
I would be available to work beginning of March, 2010. My current visa will expire then. I have a current passport, which does not expire until May of 2018. I have included a recent photo and my resume as requested.
Cordially,
Sarah R. Crouch
