My name is Stephen Roth and I am a young, energetic English teacher hoping to share my skills and experience with you. I have a full year of experience teaching English, and I believe I am fully prepared to take on any challenges related to the job. I can bring energy and fun into any class I teach while ensuring the students receive a top quality education. I work extremely hard and am very passionate about what I do. I believe these qualities will make me a valuable asset to your teaching team.
Please allow me to elaborate on my experiences to give you a better idea of what my qualifications are. From August 2008 through August 2009 I was an English teacher at Topia English Zone in Uijeongbu, South Korea. As a teacher at Topia, I taught thirty classes a week with an average of eight students per class . The student's ages ranged from eight to thirteen years old. I taught them a variety of subjects at varying levels from basic phonetics for the beginners to advanced writing and reading skills for the higher levels. I did however specialize more in teaching higher level students in each age range. I was often given the task of making midterm and final exams for these classes, as well as designing review worksheets and activities. To my knowledge, many of these exams and worksheets are still being used by Topia in Uijeongbu. I was also given the task of training three foreign teachers, as well as one Korean teacher. I was considered by many to be the best foreign teacher and seen as a valuable asset to the Topia teaching team.
On top of my teaching experience, I have very proficient knowledge of the English language. I placed in the top 5% of all U.S. college bound students in the English section of the ACT college entrance exam. I am also a TEFL certified teacher.
