I completed a TEFL 80 hour course in 2006 after finishing my degree in the National University of Ireland, Galway. I came to Korea in 2007 and have been teaching here ever since. I taught in a private academy for 1 year, and I am at present in my second year teaching in private elementary school in Gangseo Gu, Seoul. I have learned a great deal in the last three years and I am still learning everyday. |

My name is Eileen Laffan; I am of Irish nationality and have been teaching in Korea since March 2007.
My present position is in Yooseok Elementary School where my duties as a teacher are to prepare and teach English communication skills (grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking and pronunciation). These skills are taught through standard English classes and Immersion classes (reading and math classes co- taught with a Korean teacher) from grades 1 through 6. I also write semester examinations and give interview assessments. I am at present in my second year at this school.
Previous to this I worked in a private academy where I took part in many educational day trips and was responsible for preparing and presenting a Kindergarten English performance festival with two of my Korean co- workers.
I will be a great benefit and an asset to your school as I work well both as part of a team and individually, deem education essential and enjoy teaching very much. I am hardworking, motivated and enthusiastic.
