To Whom it May Concern
I heard about your teaching position online. As you can see from my resume, I have the communications and leadership skills to succeed as an ESL instructor.
I am a United States citizen of Korean descent. I have spent eighteen years in the U.S. and five in Korea. During middle school, my family decided to move back to Korea, to reconnect me with my heritage. Through that experience, I learned a lot about Korean culture, and became fluent in Korean. Afterwards I attended both high school and college in the United States. University of California, Davis is a very diverse college where I was able to connect with many different cultures. It is here that I set my future goals of joining the Peace Corps, and I spent my time volunteering to help others. I look forward to teaching English in Korea for multiple reasons. I would like to once again learn more about my Korean heritage, and gain valuable experience as an ESL teacher to further my goal of joining the Peace Corps. I have taken numerous communication classes, from Organizational Communication to Interpersonal Communication. The skills and abilities I gained through my coursework have helped me build great rapport with people, from all walks of life. Most importantly, I wish to share my knowledge with others in hopes that it may further enrich their lives.
