To Employer:
I thank you for taking the time to consider my application for a teaching job at your school. For some people, teaching English abroad is about traveling, gaining experience, having fun, or simply because they can¡¯t find any other work. For me, it¡¯s about developing a career.
My interest in teaching first became apparent while aiding international students at my university with their essays and other English homework. This, it turned out, was not a temporary interest, but rather a life long passion. After those first tutoring sessions I found more teaching opportunities, and as of now I have taught in four different countries, to all different ages, focusing on many different language needs. This experience has taught me that, beyond simply being fluent in English or knowing English grammar, being an English teacher requires personality, patience, cultural understanding, ingenuity, and enthusiasm.
I hope to bring all of these attributes and experiences to your classrooms and students, so that they may thrive and become productive individuals. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
R. Nathaniel Henderson
