During my final year of college I worked as a substitute teacher through a placement agency called Professional Education Service Group, LLC (http://www.subpass.com/) in the Grand Rapids Public Schools teaching in grades K-12 and an Adult Education center on a couple occasions during the 2008-2009 school year.
Also durin the 2008-2009 school year I volunteered at a church in Grand Rapids as an ESL teacher for Adults in the Grand Rapids area trying to learn English once a week. I would have 1-5 students on a weekly basis and we worked primarily on conversation, pronunciation and grammar.
I also have experience volunteering as a teachers assistant in the Marywood HeadStart Program in Grand Rapids for Pre-School children ages 3-5 from March 2003- May 2009. |

Hello my name is Kim DeGraaf and I am an American citizen currently residing in Seoul, South Korea with an interest in teaching English in South Korea. I was born on November 28 1980 and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Please accept this letter as an application for possible teaching positions through ESLAGENT Recruitment. Teaching English in Korea is a position that seems to fit very nicely with my education, teaching and volunteering experience from Grand Rapids, Michigan.
I have recently graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary in May of 2009 from Calvin College. I have experience teaching English as a second language with working adults as a volunteer, children ages 3-5 as a pre-school volunteer and working as a substitute teacher for grades kindergarten through twelfth grade. My experience in communicating and working with others, along with my enthusiasm, hunger and drive I feel will humbly meet the requirements.
My background and career goals seem to match the requirements that a teaching position of English would require ESLAGENT Recruitment. I am motivated, disciplined and eager to do what is necessary, to effectively do my job. It would be a privilege and excellent cultural experience to teach English in South Korea.
I have recently relieved my F-4 visa and can begin work ASAP. I can contact you soon to further discuss this position and the possibility of an interview. Please feel free to contact me by cell or email (kimjee20@yahoo.com) if you have any questions. Thank you very much for taking your time reading and for the consideration of my qualifications.
Sincerely,
Kim DeGraaf
