My name is Paige Peterson and I am interested in pursuing English teaching positions in Korea. My friend Heather Sim referred me to your website. I believe that I am a qualified candidate because I have two years teaching experience in Korea. During my two years of teaching in Korea, I taught students of different ages and English levels.
My first position in Korea was at an after school English academy. St. Paul had high standards for students and teachers. Not only did I teach English conversation courses, but I also was involved in teaching science, social studies, TOEFL and math. At this school, I taught all ages of children, ranging from kindergartens to university bound students. While employed at St. Paul, I often designed my own curriculum. Often I made workbooks for my students so their learning experience would be enhanced. After completing a one year contract with St. Paul I was offered a position at Yeungjin College. During my tenure at Yeungjin, I taught ESL to junior and senior kindergarten students. Teaching English phonetics and conversation to young children requires patience, creativity and flexibility. These are qualities that I display in any teaching position. Even before I moved to Korea, I was interested in the education process. I hold a Bachelors of the Arts degree and completed a double major in history and political science. While studying at Colorado State University I was a teaching assistant for Dr. Fiege of the history department. My duties included teaching review classes with up to 40 students, holding office hours for students with question and making exams. In addition to my experience, it should be noted that I have enthusiasm for teaching and enjoy being part of a team working together for common goals.
