I have currently been working in a secondary school teaching mathematics to pupils aged 11-16, I have been teaching there since 2007. Teaching is my passion and I find pupils enjoy learning and achieve highly in my lessons. I am now looking to gain the experience of living in another culture and to undertake a new challenge of teaching English as a foreign language.
I have a 2:1 BSc (hons) in Mathematics, from The University of Sussex, East Sussex, England. I have also completed a PGCE in secondary teaching at The University of Sussex and while studying this course I gained MSc credits in Education. During my time on this course I completed training in many aspects of teaching and learning and children¡¯s well being and I also got the opportunity to work with pupils of a primary school age.
My career as a secondary school teacher has provided me with the valuable skills needed to teach English as a second language. I am accomplished at engaging, extending, and assessing children¡¯s learning. I am also proficient at managing my time and working within a team. I have gained experience of working with pupils for who English is not their native language, ensuring they can access class work during mathematics lessons. From my work with these pupils I have realised I am very interested in gaining more skills in this area of teaching.
I love working with children and helping them learn and I would be very grateful to be offered the opportunity to teach English as a foreign language and at the same time explore Korea¡¯s culture.
