KENNY JONE-KEN WEE
• Calgary, Alberta • Canada
ATTN: ESL AGENT
My name is Kenny Jone-Ken Wee, and I am a Canadian citizen who has recently graduated from Global TESOL College with an Advanced Certificate. As well, I have recently earned a Bachelor¡¯s Degree in Religious Studies and Applied Ethics from the University of Calgary.
I am currently in search for a secure ESL teaching position in Korea. At this point in my life, I feel the need to explore and immerse myself in cultures and languages unlike my own. As a first generation Asian-Canadian, I am also curious as to discovering my own geographical Asian roots and heritage. My decision to select Korea as my choice destination to teach English is driven by your country¡¯s high standard of living, reputable hospitality towards foreigners and your overall culture. As a student of the humanities and liberal arts, I have always been fascinated about learning about different cultures. I feel living and immersing my self in Korea will not only teach me about other societies, but my own as well. In particular, I anticipate that teaching the children of your country will give me that kind of openness and understanding.
As you will see from my resume, I have some ESL teaching experiences in Calgary. My teaching experiences have not only familiarized myself to the classroom setting, but it has also taught me valuable lessons on how students learn, the hardships of learning English and the resources it takes to teach English successfully. Although the majority of my teaching experiences have been geared towards adults, my past job as a summer day camp councilor has given me the opportunity to interact with children ages 6-12 years. During that time, my experiences working with children have taught me valuable time management skills, creativity, and how to have fun too.
You will also find that my personal characteristics are very suited towards teaching not only children, but people of all ages. I am highly organized and take every job very seriously. As well, I am always in search of finding new ways to make teaching English fun and interesting. I consider myself friendly, outgoing, patient and understanding. Most of all, I always keep in mind that I myself am a continuing learner. I hope to work with and become a valuable asset to you and fellow teaching staff.
I will be anticipating your call or e-mail.
Sincerely,
Kenny Jone-Ken Wee
