Education is vital to establishing a strong foundation on which understanding is based. The absence of education allows opportunities for ignorance to take form and grow, resulting in negative repercussions to society. Therefore, I aim to guide students’ in developing the skills necessary in becoming mature, contributing members of our community.
As a teacher, I hope to motivate students to do their best and to extend their own personal limits. By expanding on previous knowledge and exploring new, uncharted territory, students increase their career opportunities and future personal success greatly. In my classroom, students must commit to a level of performance that challenges them to reach their full potential. My expectations of my students are high, and by the end of the school year students realise that they can achieve any goal set before them. This a valuable lesson that they can apply to their lives beyond the classroom.
My teaching style is best described as eclectic. While I am always organised and focused, I vary my instructional methodologies to incorporate diverse activities and materials to engage and interest students. By understanding human behaviour and acknowledging the many different styles of students, I easily establish and maintain an excellent rapport with students and co-workers alike. As a result, there is a strong level of trust that develops which allows me to provide direction in working towards realising shared goals and objectives. When faced with challenges, I succeed in utilising a variety of strategies to motivate and encourage positive interaction.
